The Beginnings
Our outreach into missions began in 1993 with a trip to Kiev, Ukraine.
This area was a part of the USSR until the fall of communism in late 1991.
We were blessed to be some of the first to go into the regions that had so long
been isolated from the Word of God. By the Hand of God, we were led to the small
country of Moldova in 1994. Moldova is probably the poorest of the 13
independent states that make up the former Soviet Union. It lies between Romania
and the Ukraine, an area of rolling hills and farmland. Life is hard
there, reminding us of what life must have been like during the depression years
in this country. The standard of living is improving slowly in Moldova at this
time.

In 1995 a team of ten men and women was sent to Moldova and established a
partnership with a local pastor named Dimetru Scutaru ("Mitica" to his friends).
Through this relationship we have seen our ministry there grow under the
Blessings of the Lord. Our partnership with this country is nothing short of the
Plan of God for that part of the world, and we are humbled by His choosing us to
play a part in His Work there.
The Work
Since 1993, hundreds of men and women have been sent on short term mission
trips to Moldova. We have been allowed to work in the schools, carry medicines
to hospitals, help establish house churches, distribute Bibles and tracts to the
workplaces and markets. We even ventured into the fields to share the Word
of God, seeing hundreds of lives change for God's Kingdom. Our ministry in
Moldova has been expanded to the following areas:
- Church Planting / Village House churches
- Establishment of a Missions House
- A Pastor Training Center in Chimishlia
- A computer lab
- A Youth Center and Youth Camp
- Vacation Bible Schools in the summers
- Distributing Medicines with the Emmanuel Christian Medical Association of
Moldova
- Christmas projects for poor children
- An Orphanage in Selemet, near Chimishlia
- Five Loaves/Two Fishes feed the hungry project
Our main focus has always been and will continue to be, evangelism - the
proclamation of God's Word in the churches, schools, homes, workplaces, streets
and fields.
