January 2004 Trip
Allen Fritchey and Randall
Reed went to Moldova this past January and experienced two things. One thing was
the brutal winter conditions of Moldova as they had blizzard conditions at
times. The second and foremost was to be able to see the very Hand of God at
work ministering to folks. They visited churches and homes in and around
Chimishlia. This small team was there to talk about GOD’S work and what Jesus
has done in their lives and to share with others. Also time was set aside for a
Pastor’s conference and to look at the needs of the Farming project and the
Youth camp.
During their time there they gave out 50 Bibles and saw 41 decisions made to
accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
One special
decision was a lady that was at one time a high official with the communist
party. She was an atheist and people in and around Chimishlia knew her and the
status of her beliefs. Now in her old age she has come to know JESUS.
This team was small in size but the work and love for God is very big. ACTS

May 2004 Trip
In late May, Ron Smith, Jennifer Cagle, Kirklyn Smith and
Darrel Hulsey, arrived in Chisinau to begin a short-term mission trip in
Moldova. This trip would mark a somewhat more diverse trip in nature than past
trips for most of the team members. This mission trip would involve not only
evangelism but also outreach to various villages and schools in southern
Moldova.
The first stop for the team was in Valei Perjiu. There the newly purchased youth
camp was being repaired and readied for upcoming summer camps. Work crews were
busy rewiring, re-plumbing, painting and cleaning. Also in Valei Perjiu, the
team along with another short-term mission team from Lula Baptist Church met
with the mayor of the city to discuss opportunities to work with the locals. The
mayor gave the teams a tour of the local kindergarten and high school. The teams
were allowed to speak with different high school classes.
The
mission team also traveled to the village of Jayguar. There they were able to
speak in the local high school. The team was also able to meet with and work
with village children at the Baptist church in Jayguar. The team moved on to
Besemac and met with the congregation of the local Baptist church.
They also, visited Selemet. It is the village in which the sponsored orphanage
is located. Team members were able to see the improvements to the orphanage and
the new dormitory that was recently purchased. While in Selemet and surrounding
villages they were able to do some house-to-house evangelism and encourage local
church congregations.
The team met with the medical staff of a hospital in Basarabeasca. The staff
discussed the needs of their community and their vision for working with groups
willing to support local outreach efforts. They did some home visits while in
Basarabeasca and conducted services at the local church.
While in Chimislia, the team was able to meet with the mayor and discuss
continuing cooperative efforts. The results of the agricultural project in
Chimislia was observed. This project is sponsored in part by Cornerstone.
Cornerstone was able to purchase a tractor, and seed. A large field of wheat
planted earlier in the year was looking great and will be ready for harvest
later in the year.

Most importantly the team was blessed to see fifteen people make professions of
faith in Jesus Christ. They were very thankful to see God’s Hand at work in the
hearts of the people of Moldova.

August 2004 Trip
In August a mission team headed by Mike Martin
and Brad Dunagan will be in the new Youth Camp and will have the building
dedications for those who gave in honor of a remembered family or loved one.
Please pray for this team as they minister and remember all those who are
working daily to change Moldova, one heart at a time.
To God be all honor.
